April is Fair Housing Month, a reminder of the law enacted 47 years ago, the Fair Housing Act of 1968.
The National Association of Realtors describes the law as making illegal "any discrimination in the sale, lease, or rental of housing, or making housing otherwise unavailable, because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or natural origin."
The law affects real estate professionals, potential home buyers and home sellers alike, and it's something that we at Kalona Realty take seriously every day.
Thank you for visiting today. If this is your first visit, take your time and look around. I have plenty of information and resources available to you. If you are a return visitor, thank you. I would love to hear from you and tell you how I can serve all your real estate needs.
